When not empowering others, Kirsten enjoys spending time with Dicey, and her family, and she especially loves being Oma to her grandson.

Here we sat down with Kirsten to learn a bit more about her journey as a spiritual coach.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Kirsten: My journey into entrepreneurship unfolded naturally as more and more people began expressing interest in the skills I had developed. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and my love for animals runs deep. The idea that I could combine both passions into a business was incredibly exciting to me, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the world.
How did you get started?
Kirsten: I got started when I became a Reiki Practitioner and found that even friends I never expected were interested in energy healing and asking for sessions. It was a whole new world for me, one that wasn’t widely recognized at the time. This led me to teach a series of meditation classes at a local continuing education program.
At the same time, I was navigating how to support my kids in a fast-paced, high-stress world, so I became certified in children’s meditation techniques and began teaching classes at the local library and community school. My journey also included volunteering at a Therapeutic Riding program, where I noticed that the animals were responding positively to the energy work I offered. This experience deepened my connection with animals and helped me further develop my communication skills with them.
What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?
Kirsten: Early in my journey, I almost gave up. I was balancing a family, a job, and my newfound passion for energy healing, and it felt overwhelming. On top of that, animal communication and energy healing weren’t widely accepted topics, and I faced resistance from my spouse and even had people question if I was involved in voodoo. I had to make a choice: let fear and doubts dictate my path, or trust that my purpose was bigger than my fears.
To navigate these challenges, I turned to the tools I had been practicing — meditation, journaling, and positive affirmations. These practices helped me overcome the self-doubt and block out the opinions of others. I realized that not everyone would share my vision of helping people and animals, and that was okay. My personal development journey became empowering, and it taught me that others could find the same peace and healing I had cultivated.
What I’ve learned through this process is that I am capable of facing challenges, and that growth, though uncomfortable, is always worth it. True transformation happens when we step out of our comfort zones and push through fear. I’ve learned to embrace discomfort as a catalyst for change, trusting that every challenge brings a valuable lesson. This mindset has been crucial for both my personal and professional development. Now, I connect deeply with both people and animals, and I wake up every day excited about the difference I can make — a far cry from the dread I once felt.
What is the most memorable thing you’ve done since you started your business?
Kirsten: Since starting my business, there have been so many memorable moments, from in-person classes and private coaching sessions to incredible animal communication experiences and life lessons. On the technical side, building a website, creating online classes, and fostering a supportive community have all been significant milestones. However, the most memorable experiences for me have been seeing the transformation in my clients, especially those who have flourished both personally and professionally.
One client, who began with me as a Reiki client, was diagnosed with a serious medical issue. Midway through her journey, COVID hit, and she had to undergo major medical procedures alone. After her diagnosis, she transitioned into private coaching, and now, she is fully recovered and thriving. Watching her rediscover her strength and step into her powerful spirit has been incredibly rewarding. The tools I encouraged her to adopt — mirror work, meditation, affirmations, and journaling — are now key parts of her daily routine, and it’s amazing to see how far she’s come.
What is one book you recommend, and why?
Kirsten: It’s hard to recommend just one book, as I read many each year, and so many have been pivotal in my journey. However, if I had to choose, it would be “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga” by Deepak Chopra, M.D. and David Simon, M.D. This book opened my eyes to the deep connection between body, mind, and spirit, and helped me realize there’s so much more to life than what we can see. It was the catalyst for my healing journey and the beginning of my lifelong education in personal growth and spirituality.
In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?
Kirsten: The legacy I hope to leave is one where my children, grandchildren, and clients always remember how truly amazing they are, just as they are, and that there is no need to compare themselves to others. I want them to know it’s okay to do their best every day and to feel all the emotions that come with it, but to also remember that nothing is permanent. They have the power to make the changes they desire and create the life they dream of. I want them to understand that others’ opinions should never hold them back from living authentically and following their own path.
In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?
Kirsten: Always listen to your gut, it will never steer you wrong.
