Anji Gray is a Board Certified Master Life Coach, Hypnotherapist, and founder of The New Classic Woman, LLC. She helps her clients cut ties with the past, heal, and manifest a life that feels like magic. With over 15 years of experience in mind-body connection and ancient spiritual practices, Anji uses NLP and hypnotherapy to create lasting change at the deepest level of the mind.

Below she talks to us about what subconscious reprogramming entails, ancient spiritual practices, past client revelations, and her own journey so far.

Q. Can you tell us about a particularly memorable experience you had while working with a client?

Anji: I had the pleasure of working with a client recently who is a preacher’s daughter. She had been suffering from fear, shame and guilt for years, but when she took the time to go through TIME Techniques, she saw that she was repeating this same pattern lifetime after lifetime after lifetime, and was destined to keep doing it until she learned that she was already everything she needed to be. That she is the light she needs to be.

What was remarkable about this session is that she did not believe in past lives before — and this went against her programming. Since then, she has moved out of the toxic home she was in, found a job doing what she loves, and is getting married in just a few months!

Q.How does NLP and hypnotherapy complement each other in the coaching process?

Anji: NLP & Hypnotherapy complement each other in coaching because they both focus on the power of language to influence the mind. Setting and achieving goals, reframing limiting beliefs, and negative emotions can all be addressed through the client’s language. For example, during a session, I listen for specific language patterns and use those in hypnosis to help the client fall into a trance-like state faster & easier. I then use her words to access her subconscious and use the suggestions she would like to integrate with hypnosis to create lasting changes at the deepest level of the mind, her identity.

Q. Can you walk us through a typical coaching session with a client?

Anji: No two sessions are ever exactly alike, even with the same client, but they all start with a quick recap of her week and goals. I use intuition to know which techniques to use during the session and tailor them to the client’s needs. Flexibility is crucial in empowering the client’s control while I am the coach guiding and facilitating. We end the session with a recap, activity suggestions/’homework’ for the week, and brainstorming ideas for the next session to bring the client closer to their ultimate goal.

Q. Can you share with us how you incorporate ancient spiritual practices such as Ho’oponopono and Tarot into your coaching methods?

Anji: Of course!

I often use Ho’Oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian practice that involves reconciliation and forgiveness during one of our first sessions, to help her release negative emotions and beliefs that are holding them back, remove the emotional charge from an uncomfortable memory, and ultimately forgive past versions of themselves and others so that she can let go of attachments and resentments and open up to new possibilities & refresh relationships. Tarot is sometimes used during a session to help her gain insight, deepen self-discovery & help build a connection with her intuition.

Let’s say she is stuck on something and unable to move forward, it sometimes is that she lacks trust in herself, so if she is comfortable using them, I suggest a card pull. The cards help her connect with her intuition through the images and meanings she forms from my interpretations of the cards for her.

Ultimately, the goal is to help my clients achieve their goals and find greater fulfilment and meaning in their lives, using whatever tools and methods are most effective for them.

Q. How have you seen your clients change and grow after working with you?

Anji: I’ve witnessed significant growth and transformation in my clients during and after our work. For example, one woman went from living in a toxic environment, seeking employment and a partner, to now living in her apartment, having her dream job, and preparing to marry her soulmate. Another woman had a single hypnotherapy session using Ho’oponopono, a client with a recurring foot injury due to an emotional block healed so fast that her doctor was astonished by her progress and called it a miracle.

Within four weeks, she was able to have her stitches removed, and within two weeks after that, she resumed her daily routine with minimal scarring.

Q. Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a Master Certified Life Coach and Hypnotherapist?

Anji: After a few years of working with a traditional therapist I knew I had to find something else. I was getting worse, not better, I knew there had to be a better way. I kept seeing this NLP thing and finally decided to give it a try. The results were AMAZING! I knew I had to learn the tools to help others, too.

Q.How do you see your practice evolving in the future?

Anji: This is such a powerful set of modalities that everyone should be able to access it. I see digital courses, speaking, there are books that I will be authoring, and in the next few years I see myself becoming a trainer of NLP and creating my own certification program!

Q. Can you share with us about the self-paced online coaching program and group coaching program that you will be offering in 2023?

Anji: Yes, of course! In the spring of this year, I will be offering a group coaching program for the first time, and I will be teaching live to a small group of about five students, which I will later release as a self-paced online coaching program. This program, Tapping into Manifestation Mastery, will use my signature Mahal Method of coaching & teaching the energetic embodiment of manifestation through subconscious healing. It will be a seven-week program, each week focusing on a different subject of healing & manifestation at the subconscious level, with hot seat style coaching. You can sign up for the waitlist and early bird pricing now at www.thenewclassicwoman.com and download my EFT/Tapping Guide today as a gift just for signing up!

Q. How do you maintain a work-life balance while running your coaching practice and continuing your education in the field?

Anji: There’s no such thing as ‘work-life balance’! It’s all life! And when you design your life with intentionality, according to your strengths, weaknesses, desires, and dreams, then it’s the actual living, and doing that, on the outside, looks like balance. In reality, you’re just living, enjoying the ebbs and flows of life!

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Anji: Follow your heart and trust your gut!

Q. What does your perfect day look like?

Anji: Most of my days start by waking at 4:30 am to work out, meditate, and have some time to enjoy the quiet of the day before the world awakes. I make breakfast and eat with my kiddo before driving him to school. I get back home and get ready to start my workday of client calls, meeting with my team, and ending the day with a cord-cutting before going to pick up my kiddo from school and playing outside before starting dinner or running off to taekwondo or whatever other activity we have as a family. And every day ends with some tv time together, reading my son a bedtime story, and snuggles- just like I dreamed up years ago!
